New laptop from Zepto with Intel Santa Rosa technology
I have just ordered a brand new laptop for private use from the Danish laptop manufacturer Zepto. I decided on the Zepto Znote 6625WD that uses the latest chip set from Intel known as Santa Rosa. I configured the laptop to have the following specifications:
- Chipset: Intel Centrino Duo (Mobile Intel PM965 Express)
- CPU: 2.20 GHz Intel Core2 Duo T7500 800MHz
- Memory: 2048MB (2x1024) DDR2 667/PC5300 SODIMM
- Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT
- Display: 15,4" WSXGA+ 1680x1050
- LAN: Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG 54Mbit
- HD: 120GB 7200rpm SATA Harddisk Hitachi
- OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate
I look forward to see how it compares to my work laptop: a standard Thinkpad T60. I expect that the Zepto Znote 6625WD will really outperform the T60.
This will also be my first time using Windows Vista for more than just installing a release candidate version in VMware
Update: this also means that I won't be switching to an Apple Macbook Pro this time unlike others. I seriously considered trying a Mac but in the end decided to go for the Zepto and Vista.
