Earlier this year the IBM Redbooks team were looking for authors for creating a wiki on best practices for building web application for Lotus Domino 8. The team has been assembled and the result is a wiki on developerWorks on Lotus Domino web application development best practices.
The result looks very interesting and I look forward to have a deeper look into the details of the work.

Update September 16: The wiki has moved and is now called the Lotus Domino Designer wiki.
Mikkel Heisterberg has just announced TwitNotes: a Twitter plug-in for the Lotus Notes 8.0 Standard sidebar. Mikkel promises in his announcement that he will put it on an update site soon so that we can try it out.
Update March 25: TwitNotes is now available for installation via a remote update site.
Lotus Notes 8.0.1, Lotus Domino 8.0.1 and Lotus Enterprise Integrator 8.0.1 are now available for download on Passport Advantage.

A used IBM sServer zSeries 890 mainframe has just been sold on eBay!
Computerworld has more on the story about how Palm Beach Community College chose to sell their less than 3 years old mainframe on eBay.

An interesting article has just been published on developerWorks: “Develop iPhone Web applications with Eclipse“. The article is a tutorial on how to create iPhone web sites using Eclipse, Aptana’s iPhone Development plug-in, and the iUi framework.
It could be fun to try to use these ideas on a Lotus Domino demo web application. Anyone up for the challenge?
As usual Lotusphere comes to you and visits major cities all over the world – including Copenhagen on March 3rd. So if you did not attend Lotusphere 2008 then here is your chance to see and hear some of the highlights!
I have previously blogged about the release of the free WebSphere Application Server Community Edition 2.0. Now a draft Redbook called “WebSphere Application Server Community Edition 2.0 User Guide” is available for administrators and developers interested in the basics of using WebSphere Application Server Community Edition V2 to run applications.
Ed Brill hinted that we would see 8 announcements in the Lotusphere 2008 Opening General Session – we actually saw 8+1:

Once again it is possible to be part of Lotusphere by visiting the virtual Lotusphere in Second Life. Hopefully people attending and people not attending will drop by from time to time in the virtual Lotusphere.
